Two Weddings, One Golden Summer: Perrie Edwards & Dua Lipa
Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll have seen two of the UK's most-loved singers light up your feed with their weddings this summer. Perrie Edwards, formerly of Little Mix, married footballer fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in an all-lace ceremony gown, a crystal-embellished showstopper for the first dance, and a corset mini for the after-party. Dua Lipa married her long-term beau, actor Callum Turner, in a Schiaparelli two-piece for the ceremony and a custom Chanel haute couture gown for the celebration.
Both brides proved you don't have to be just one bride on your wedding day. Weave in a little of everything that makes you, you. For Dua, that meant honouring her Kosovan-Albanian heritage alongside her classic London girl-next-door style. Make it bold, make it different, make it modern. Above all, make it authentically you.

Perrie's Lace Moment
Let's start with Perrie's lace moment, because lace never really left centre stage this wedding season. We're not talking doily lace here. We're talking timeless, full-blown bridal lace that never goes out of fashion, and she nailed the brief in a showstopping Dana Harel gown.
The dress itself was a strapless, corseted fit-and-flare, but true to what we love at The Aisle, she didn't stop there. She layered a full lace bolero over the top for a clean, covered-up ceremony look, finished with a veil and a lengthy train. The long sleeves brought a traditional edge, while the sharp lines of the corset kept it feeling every bit the modern bride.
Loving this look for your own big day? You're in luck, because we have plenty of options at The Aisle. Try Alena Leena's long-sleeved, cut-out-back Rubinette, KYHA's full lace Gibson in a soft blush or ivory undertone, KYHA's light and airy Wilton, or Joy by Grace Loves Lace, complete with its own full-sleeve lace bolero.

Perrie's second dress brought the glamour: intricate beading, boning and ruching, Met Gala energy dialled all the way up. It was probably heavier and more restrictive than she made it look, but a Little Mix girl used to dancing through demanding stage outfits made it look effortless.
For the after-party, she swapped in a daringly short corset minidress with a dramatic matching headdress. Cinched to the heavens and built for dancing, it flipped the look from bridal chic to full pop-princess energy without losing an ounce of sophistication. Perrie, take a bow!
As much as we loved what she created, we've got just as much to offer lace-loving, accessory-obsessed brides here in Skipton. Come and try our Mantilla veil options, especially KYHA's Edith veil: three metres of cathedral-length tulle and Chantilly lace that will have your guests in awe. It's your day, you're the celebrity here.
Dua's Double Take
Dua's first outfit was a two-piece by Daniel Roseberry for Schiaparelli. We're big fans of a two-piece at The Aisle, so don't knock it until you've tried it. Classy, elegant and endlessly versatile. She leaned into pure Parent Trap-era Elizabeth James elegance, topped off with a wide-brimmed, Samantha Jones-worthy hat so dramatic it was basically visible from the moon.
The tailoring gave us simplicity, then in walked the hat. Sculptural, lined in gold leaf and seriously big, it was created by legendary milliner Stephen Jones and did not disappoint.

The beauty of having multiple looks is the freedom to experiment, and that's exactly what Dua did. Her second dress couldn't have been more different from the first, and we loved her for it. She's a bride who can authentically pull off both looks, so take a leaf out of her book and make the day entirely your own. Let your dresses reflect your personal style, your adventures, your heritage and your real love story.
That's easy enough when you've got a specially designed haute couture gown by Chanel's Matthieu Blazy. Intricate hand-crafted embellishments against white satin, finished with a daring cut-out back, meant this bride was writing her own 'New Rules' in wedding gown design. Take a bow, Dua!
Dua Lipa wearing custom made Chanel
If your budget doesn't stretch to custom Chanel, don't worry. Look no further than Trish Peng's appliqué Daphne dress, or Weston and Haven, both by Made With Love, for that same embellished, modern feel. Our designers at The Aisle can also create beautiful custom looks built on existing masterpieces, so nothing is off the table.
