We know, we know. We've filled your feeds with celebrity wedding dresses more times than we can count recently, but we just couldn't ignore the fact that a Spice Girl got married. A summer wedding in the heart of the English countryside, combined with one fifth of the most popular girl group in history, certainly calls for a celebration.

Mel C, forever known and loved as Sporty Spice, wasn't backflipping off stage in a crop top and Adidas tracksuit bottoms (at least not for the ceremony- hold that thought!) Instead, she said her vows in a slinky floral setting deep in the Cumbrian countryside, surrounded by her nearest and dearest, in a joyful English celebration that followed hot on the heels of a secret legal ceremony down under in Sydney earlier this year.

You might have noticed a particular Spice Girl missing from the celebrations. Don't worry, because not only was she there in spirit, she also had a pretty integral part to play in her friend's wedding. That's right, Victoria Beckham herself designed this one of a kind stunner, and we are all over it. Vintage lace, delicately hand dyed to the perfect shade, a low open back and a slinky silk silhouette were the ideal combination for the member of the band with the most versatile and instantly recognisable tattoos to show off her full, authentic self. Mel B brought the sass we'd expect from nobody else, proving Scary Spice never really left the building. Geri went full British garden party in a white floral two piece, a bold choice for a wedding guest, but a completely on brand one for Ginger Spice, who has never been afraid of an opinion or a look. Emma Bunton gave a gentle nod to her Baby Spice roots in soft pink, proving some things never change (in the very best way). Looking at the beautiful photographs by Andrew Timms, it really is giving as much school reunion as it is wedding. We’ve got serious 90’s nostalgia going on.

And Then, She Became Sporty Spice Again

In true Sporty Spice fashion, Mel then slipped into an ivory and champagne silk Adidas tracksuit, a palazzo pant style with a cropped top, for the celebrations that followed.

We love this so much, because it's the perfect reminder that brides should always feel free to be completely themselves on their big day. If having a change into trainers (I’m guilty as charged for that one!), a tracksuit or a mini dress feels more you, then go for it. Equally, you should never feel pressured into having multiple looks just because it's trending.
