Aisle Bride-Jessica!

Jessica wearing Jane Hill - Goldie at the Tithe Barn for her stunning wedding! How amazing does she look!

What was the best part of your day?

There were so many moments to choose from but i vividly remember taking a moment to step back, standing alongside my new husband in ore of our beautiful venue, the venue i'd always dreamed of, watching all our friends and family so happy, laughing, singing and dancing.

How did you know Jane Hill - Goldie was the dress for you?

Despite always being so sure and confident in my style when it comes to clothing, i did really struggle when it came to finding the dress i wanted to get married in. So many designers to choose from and styles, i thought i'd never find the perfect fit. But that's where i began, i knew the fit and neckline i wanted and, that Jane Hill specialised in square neck, fashion first designs and when i came into the Aisle and began looking through the collection, i knew Jane Hill was my designer. I didn't want a 'traditional' wedding dress, i have always worn bold, colourful and unique dresses. I knew when i tried on Goldie, with the intricate detailing, the shine of the sequins and the unique weighted train, that this would be my dress.

What did you like about your experience with The Aisle?

I was apprehensive about finding the dress, the pressure and focus on the gown can really lay heavy on a bride's mind, it become the focus and my Aisle stylist really understood my feelings from the beginning and immediately put me at ease. The look and feel of The Aisle resonated with my style and i was made to feel so special, from the first email i received to collecting my dress. My stylist Maya took every care to talk me through the collection and consider everything about my day, from the venue to the bridesmaid dresses, to make sure i found the right dress. The Aisle kept me informed every step of the way, keeping me updated on timelines and when my dress would arrive and, directed me to the fabulous seamstress at The Bobbin. I felt so re-assured, the whole way through the process and i wouldn't recommend going anywhere else other than to this beautiful bridal boutique.

Do you have any tips for 'brides to be' regarding choosing the dress?

I'd been told so many times myself and i admit, i too didn't at times believe in it but, trust the process. Timelines for wedding dresses are so long, up to 12 months in certain circumstances and you will change in this time, your ideas and plans for the wedding, themes and styles and, in my case it was my body. It's completely normal to have doubts, perhaps as soon as you've said yes and walk out of the shop but i do believe this is largely down to the pressure put on brides and the expectations of "Ooohh, what will she wear?" Right up to my final appointment with my seamstress, two weeks before the big day, i still wondered if i'd made the right choice. So, learning from this and my advice to any brides would be, don't look at the photo that one of your bridal party took of you in the sample dress, chances are the sizing will be too small and you'll go through numerous alterations to make it yours. Stop looking at Pinterest and following yours or other designers on Instagram, the seasonality of fashion and wedding gowns means there will always be a new launch in the time yours is being made and you are bound to fall in love with other dresses, brides of seasons gone by will have felt tthe same about the collection you chose from! Remember, when you walk back into The Aisle to pick up your long awaited dress and you try it on again, its NOT the finished article. Straps may be too long, the train not stitched to the lining and in my case, it was nearly three sizes too big. Trust the process and trust the seamstress. Perhaps finally, remember, it might never feel like the dress is really the one until the big day, when everything comes together from hair to make up, flowers to accessories. In the build up, despite maybe even having your hair and make-up done ahead of wedding dress shopping, you'll never create that wedding day moment when minutes before walking down the aisle when you realise, this dress is the one.
